George Washington and his Legacy

Our state is the only state that features an actual person on its flag, its namesake, George Washington This name was chosen not only for its expediency but also for the attributes and values one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, the Father of His Country. While George Washington had only a small part in the start of Washington State, his example and leadership are characteristics that the people of the state should find worth emulating and his mistakes and shortcomings worth learning from.
